Why 7up?
When I was in high school in the late 80's and working part time in a family owned grocery store I was offered the opportunity to work a couple of summers on a 7up delivery truck. I worked for 3 different "rack jobbers" who owned their truck and route. I found the experiences very rewarding and it allowed me to have a greater understanding of business and the importance of taking care of the primary and secondary customer/consumer.
My collection started of with the two short bottles of 7up. We were working our route and stopped at this little run down bodega type store. I noticed the very old and expired bottles and asked the gentleman I was working for if we could take them out for credit, meaning exchange for new ones, as I really wanted to keep them. He said sure and I have had them every since.
My high school DECA teacher and later adopted dad, Mr. Leete was on me for missing assignments and I offered to do a special project. I interview Mr. Kelly who was the gentleman who first give me a chance on his truck and route. It was cool interview that I recorded with a cassette tape. Toward the end of the interview he said let me show you something and when to the cabinet and pulled out the upside down glass. I had never seen one and was pretty exited. He gave me the glass and I have cherished it all these years as a symbol of that time in my life and the professional relationship I had with Mr. Kelly and all the things he taught me directly and indirectly.

Couple empty bottles cerebrating the United States Bicentennial. Lots of products and even US coins celebrated this special birthday of the USA! You can see the back of the bottle has the Liberty Bell. Very cool!

A steel can! I had never seen one that I could remember. This one is empty but still sealed at the top. I do remember those pull tops. They came completely off and I can remember making a necklace when I was a kid by stringing the pull off tops together. Looks like my can is from the late 60's to early 70's

I was told there bottles were from the 1970's. Picked them up on Ebay for $2.50 each. I liked them as the were embossed with the logo. You can see from the top of the bottle it looks like one was a screw top and the other needed a bottle opener. Also there is a difference in the top logos. Love them.
1930's bottle! Before printed labels. Embossed on front and bottom. Very cool!
